Want to Rock your Next Interview?
  • Do you get nervous with the thought of an Interview, do you think your nervousness is costing you a great opportunity, don’t fret because we have the perfect solution.
  • Here are top 10 Interview tips to ensure that you rock that interview:
  • You may be the best candidate for the said job, but the employer doesn’t know that as of yet. And since you can’t go in and say, Hi sir/mam I am your best bet you’ve got out of the lot sitting outside; you will have to show them your caliber.

1. Dressing well for the interview
The first thing an interviewer notices is your clothes; they will surely check you from top to bottom. So make sure you check yourself from top to bottom before the interview. Wear clothes and accessories that are formal, comfortable and well fitted. As limping into an interview due to a shoe bite might not make a good impression and neither would an unironed pant help your cause.

2. Always greet the Interviewers and introduce yourself
Always enter the interview room with a warm smile, it shows your confidence. Shake hands with every interviewer and introduce yourself properly. Do not attempt a handshake if the table is too broad as you don’t want to risk falling over the table now! Would you?

3. Observe social etiquette
Be nice to not just the interviewer but to everyone you meet from the peon to the fellow interviewers as you never know who might be observing you. Also, do not get busy watching our videos on YouTube while you wait; instead observe the surrounding for a better insight or read the available magazine.

4. Arrive before time
Not just this helps making you a better impression, but arriving early allows you to reign in your anxiety and prepare yourself for the interview. No one wants to see a sweaty person walking in and apologizing for the delay.
Arriving on time also reflects upon your commitment for the job. Please note before time means 15 – 20 minutes before the scheduled time. No one would appreciate you for sitting on the office stairs waiting for them while the office is still getting cleaned.

5. Know your facts and resume
Aaammm…. Yaaa…. Aaaa… doesn’t reflect confidence, so make sure you have your strength, weaknesses, past experiences and other such question on the tips of your finger. Don’t underplay or over exaggerate your accomplishments. Having watched DDLJ in Maratha Mandir isn’t that big an achievement as you might feel.

6. Research about the company
You might have done so before submitting your resume, but make sure to dig deep into the companies profile before the interview. It emphasizes your level of interest and commitment towards the company.
Make sure to mention your knowledge about them in generic conversation, don’t act like a stalker and tell them that you know how much turnover they have had last summer.

7. Ask them questions
While researching prepare yourself certain question that you may ask them if prompted. And no!! Is the canteen food yummy doesn’t count as a valid one.

8. Importance of Body language
They might have comfortable seats and sofa’s but do not dare to get comfortable. Always sit uptight and make regular eye contact while answering. You don’t want them to gauge your level of procrastination, right?

9. Prepare your Arsenal
Always carry a Pen and a Notepad to an interview along with a few copies of your resume. If you have some work to show, present it properly in a portfolio. If your work is online, take screenshots of your work in case internet decides to ditch you in the very last moment.
